Hey there, I'm Jillian, a self-taught artist with a passion for creating intricate and soulful pieces through Western Leather Craft. My journey began on the sunny ranches of Northern California, where I grew up surrounded by the beauty of nature, raising horses and show beef. Little did I know that this upbringing would plant the seeds of a lifelong passion for craftsmanship and artistry.
A Love for Animals and the Call of Texas
After spending my early years in California, I followed my dreams to Texas, where I pursued a degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University. My time at A&M was filled with adventures, new friendships, and countless opportunities to learn about the animals I adored. However, it was also in Texas that I discovered my true passion for Western Leather Craft.
A Lucky Encounter
When I moved to Texas and began my studies at Texas A&M University, little did I know that it would be a turning point in my artistic journey. I landed a student worker job where I had the privilege of meeting an exceptional individual who would become both an inspiration and a mentor to me. It was through this fortuitous encounter that I discovered the world of leather working, as my newfound friend shared his passion and expertise with me. His remarkable projects ignited a spark within me, urging me to explore my own creative path. Starting with a few belts and apple watch bands, I began crafting my own style of leatherwork, infusing each piece with a touch of my unique artistic flair. With every project, I grow more and more enamored by the art of Western Leather Craft and the endless possibilities it holds
A Fusion of Passions
As a young girl, I had lingering dreams of becoming a tattoo artist. The idea of creating permanent art fascinated me. While I didn't pursue tattooing, the desire to create art never left me. So, when I discovered leather craft, it felt like a natural extension of my creative ambitions.
The Journey Unfolds
I began my leather working journey carrying a sketchpad everywhere I went. Capturing ideas, designs, and inspirations from the world around me, I gradually honed my skills and developed my unique style. For nearly five years now, I have been passionately pursuing Western Leather Craft, pouring my heart into every project I undertake.
Goals and Aspirations
